Fall is a time of year when children naturally begin to show interest in pumpkins, and those curiosities often grow into meaningful explorations through our emergent curriculum. Across our infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms, children are engaging in a variety of STEAM-based activities including observing, comparing, and experimenting with pumpkins of different sizes, weights, and textures. The exploration continued as they rolled pumpkins through paint to create colorful designs, blending creativity, curiosity, and discovery. These hands-on experiences support sensory development, early scientific thinking, and an appreciation for the world around them.
