The first week of August was Camping Week at Children’s Village. The children explored a large camping tent set up on the grass area. They laughed and watched in amazement as they roasted their own marshmallows over a BBQ fire. The children smelled the mixture of roasting marshmallows and burning coals, adding to the real camp-like atmosphere! During the week, teachers read stories that addressed camping safety, including fire safety. Classes also went for nature walks to collect items, and then created collages with their discoveries.
