This week was a construction theme for our summer curriculum. The children participated in building with different materials inside and out of the classroom. We worked all week on constructing a fort made with cardboard, tape, string, and sheets. We practiced teamwork and communication to get the job done!
Our Pre-K classes used their imagination and creativity to help plan and build a train using wood, screws, and cardboard. The first step was to draw out our plan and make the correct measurements that we decided on. After the planning process we had a teacher help to cut the wood and assemble the train according to our plans. The children contributed by assisting in the assembly process and the sanding to make the wood smooth and safe. Our beginning preschool friends worked together to decorate and paint the train.
Our infant and toddlers joined in on the fun by exploring the structures that our older friends built!
