The preschool children celebrated Chinese New Year! Part of the celebration included making fried rice and sticky rice cakes (The children learned that in Vietnamese it’s called “banh chung”). The children helped make fried rice in the skillet and practiced eating with chopsticks. They also explored a dragon puppet while listening to Chinese music. One class made their own dragon and put on a parade for the other classes. Some children even got to take home a red envelope and a tangerine home at the end of the day.
