Each spring, the children at Children’s Village Preschool of Orange get to experience the incubation and hatching of baby chicks. The 21 day process starts with fertilized eggs in the incubator. Each day the children observe for any changes. Around day twenty-one, they see the baby chick use its eye tooth to start its journey out of the egg. It’s a joy to see the children’s excitement as they welcome the baby chick to the center. It’s also a fun way to incorporate STEM and natural science into our school curriculum!
